Grade 2 - Canada in My Pocket, a New Verse
After learning, and singing Canada in My Pocket, (a song about the symbols on coins), students were puzzled to find that there was no verse for the loonie's loon, or the toonie's polar bear. They decided to compose their own verse and drafted an email to send to the song's composer Michael Mitchell.
The loon, the loon is a beautiful sight to see. She's black and white, a beautiful bird, I'm sure you'll all agree. She's a powerful swimmer, and a graceful diver too. She swims in our lakes with a graceful song, she sings to me and you.
Grade 3 - Peter & The Wolf
Students explored and demonstrated the effects of timbre, rhythm, and dynamics to create 'themes' for each character in the musical story Peter & The Wolf
